Fraud Alerts

Man presses fraud alert button on a computer screen

In 2005, the Weld County District Attorney's Office started the C.A.S.E. Program (Churches Against Senior Exploitation). This program works with more than 100 churches and senior centers in Weld County providing information regarding scams and how seniors can protect themselves from them.

Everyday, seniors are exploited and taken advantage of by con artists. Prior to the C.A.S.E. Program, seniors had no organized way of familiarizing themselves with these issues and, in turn, protecting themselves.

Throughout the years, the program has evolved into one that provides monthly Fraud Alerts, which are emailed to churches, senior centers, and community organizations. If you would like Fraud Alerts emailed to your group or if you would like to schedule an educational presentation regarding senior fraud, please contact Krista Henery, Community Relations Director.
