GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – A Weld County man will spend the rest of his natural life behind bars, after a jury convicted him of murdering a man at a Greeley home in 2025.

Following a week-long trial, 34-year-old Isaiah Loader was convicted of first-degree murder Tuesday.

On July 30, 2025, officers with the Greeley Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at a home on West 7th Street Road.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Vincent Ramirez, lying in the front yard suffering from a gunshot wound.

Ramirez was transported to North Colorado Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

According to the investigation, the shooting occurred after a family disagreement.

“This was a horrible, senseless crime,” Deputy District Attorney Timothy McCormack said during Tuesdays sentencing hearing. “This could have been prevented. But instead, this defendant decided to take matters into his own hands and chose to go and get a gun after a verbal and physical altercation between him and the victim.”

Loader was sentenced to life in the Colorado Department of Corrections without the possibility of parole immediately following the guilty verdict Tuesday.

Deputy District Attorneys Timothy McCormack and Erin Vargas Gutierrez prosecuted this case.
