GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – A Greeley man will spend the next few decades behind bars for shooting a then 22-year-old woman in 2017.

Earlier this month, a judge sentenced Saw Heh, 38, to 29 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections.

In June, Heh pled guilty to one count of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in the First Degree, a class two felony.

In April of 2017, witnesses saw Heh fire a gun into the passenger side of a parked car near 15th Street before he drove away in a separate car.

Heh made a U-turn and then returned to the parked car where he had fired a shot.

Witnesses told police he pulled the victim from the vehicle and put her in the back seat of his car.

He was then seen by a Greeley police officer a few minutes later pulling into North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, where he was later arrested.

“This situation could have ended a lot worse,” Deputy District Attorney Patrick Roche said. “Thankfully it didn’t, though. This defendant almost took the life of a young, innocent girl on the day he decided to fire shots into her vehicle. We absolutely will not tolerate this kind of behavior and he deserves the maximum punishment.”
