GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – A man accused of killing his mother in July of 2018 appeared in front of a judge Wednesday morning.

Joseph Ribble, 43, of Aurora, is accused of killing his mother at her Weld County home before taking her vehicle and fleeing to Texas.

Ribble was arrested in Texas and extradited back to the Weld County Jail in August of 2018.

He was formally charged with one count of Murder in the First Degree and one count of Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft in the Second Degree on August 7, 2018.

During a preliminary hearing Wednesday morning, Weld District Judge Julie Hoskins ruled there is enough evidence to move forward with the case.

Ribble is scheduled for an arraignment hearing on May 17 at 8:30 a.m. in Division 12.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Michael Pirraglia and Deputy District Attorney Lillie Parker are prosecuting this case.
