Deputies Involved with In-custody Death Won't Face Charges

GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – On April 12, 2019, Weld District Attorney Michael Rourke issued a report in regard to the in-custody death of Isaias Rodriguez on February 23, 2019.

The 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response team conducted the investigation which was provided to the District Attorney’s Office.

Based on the thorough investigation, DA Rourke has determined that the Weld County deputies who were involved in the incident, and who attempted to bring Rodriguez into compliance with their lawful commands, will not be charged.

Further, Rodriguez’s autopsy showed the cause of death was Fatal Cardiac Arrhythmia while under the influence of cocaine.
