Former Summit View HOA president in Severance charged with theft

GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – A former Severance homeowners association president has been formally charged with theft following an investigation into the association’s finances.

Lyle Quint, 72, has been formally charged with one count of theft in Weld County District Court following an investigation into the finances of the Summit View Homeowners Association in Severance.

Investigators believe the theft occurred between 2017 and 2025. Quint had served as president of the HOA since 2004 and was the sole board member beginning in 2020. A new HOA board was elected in April 2025.

In November 2025, the HOA contacted the Severance Police Department regarding concerns about the association's financial records and funds. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation subsequently took the lead in the investigation.

Investigators reviewed HOA financial records and identified approximately $147,635 in funds that were used for unauthorized expenses attributable to Quint.

He turned himself into the Weld County Jail on Friday. A court date has not yet been set for Quint.
