GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – A Weld County man, who was already serving two, indeterminate consecutive prison sentences for sexually assaulting two women, was sentenced to additional prison time for another sex assault case stemming from 2015.

Last week, Weld County District Court Judge Allison Esser sentenced Damaige Plascencia to 99 years to life in the Colorado Department of Corrections for sexually assaulting a woman in 2015.

On July 26, 2015, officers with the Greeley Police Department responded to reports of a female who had been held at gunpoint and sexually assaulted by an unknown male after leaving Roasty’s Bar in Downtown Greeley.

Paramedics arrived on scene and transported her to a local hospital where she consented to have a sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) exam done.

In 2017, Plascencia was charged with sexual assault, menacing and kidnapping after a positive CODIS DNA hit identified him as the defendant. In December of last year, a jury convicted him of the above charges.

In March of 2023, he was sentenced to 26 years to life in DOC after a jury convicted him of sexually assaulting another woman in 2016 after cutting the power to her home. In May of 2017, a DNA match came back for Plascencia, and he was charged in Weld District Court for this incident.

Additionally, in August of 2023, he was sentenced to 20 years to life in DOC after a jury convicted him of sexually assaulting another female after befriending her and her boyfriend at Lit’l Bit Bar and Grill in Evans in August of 2019.

"Three separate juries in Weld County found this man guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of committing some of the most horrific crimes imaginable," said Chief Deputy District Attorney Arynn Clark. "He is a violent individual who shows no regard for human life and has no place in society. These sentences serve not only as punishment but as a clear message: our community will not tolerate this kind of brutality. We will pursue justice to the fullest extent of the law. Most importantly, this is a message to victims and their families — your safety matters, and your voices have been heard."

All three sentences will run consecutively for a total of 145 years to life in prison.
