GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – On Friday, July 15, Weld District Attorney Michael Rourke issued a letter and report to Evans Police Chief Rick Brandt in regard to the fatal officer involved shooting of Manuel Moreno on April 26, 2022.
The 19th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) conducted the investigation which was provided to the District Attorney’s Office.
Based on the thorough CIRT investigation, DA Rourke has determined the Evans sergeant was legally justified in discharging his firearm at Moreno during the incident.
