Judge Sets $1 Million Bond for Woman Accused of Shooting at Officers

GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – Formal charges have been filed for a woman accused of shooting at a Weld County deputy and two Firestone officers at a hotel near Interstate 25 last week.

Sarah Jesser, 41, has been formally charged with one count of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in the First Degree, a class two felony.

On February 13, a Weld deputy attempted to contact Jesser, who was wanted on warrants, and staying at the Econo Lodge located at 10811 W. Interstate 25.

Two Firestone officers assisted the deputy. Shots were fired when they made contact with Jesser.

She was transported to the Weld County Jail Thursday after being treated for injuries after the incident. No officers were injured during the shooting.

Friday afternoon, a judge set a $1 million bond.

Jesser will appear for an advisement hearing March 9th at 8:30 a.m. in Division 17.

The Weld County Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) is currently investigating the shooting. No further information is available at this time.
