GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County DA) - A Greeley-Evans School District 6 special education assistant accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old student and sending naked “selfies” to others has been charged by the Weld County District Attorney's Office.
Jerica Enriquez, 24, is charged with Sexual Assault on a Child by One in a Position of Trust and Sexual Assault on a Child by One in a Position of Trust - Pattern of Abuse, both class three felonies, punishable by up to life in the Department of Corrections. She was also charged with Promotion of Obscenity to a Minor, a class six felony, punishable by up to 18 months in the Department of Corrections, or up to 3 years in the Department of Corrections if a court were to find aggravating circumstances.
Enriquez was hired by District 6 in August 2011 as a paraprofessional special education assistant, according to administrators. She worked at two middle schools in the district until August of this year, when she transferred to Jefferson Junior High School.
According to the affidavit, a school resource officer received word about a possible sex assault involving Enriquez and a student. Further investigation led officers to a 14-year-old male student, who later told authorities that he and Enriquez had sex at least two times at a Greeley park.
Two other juveniles, a 14 and 15-year-old, also told detectives they received nude pictures of the defendant on their cellphones. Screenshots on one of the victim's phones showed Enriquez video chatting him while naked, kissing him and displaying a negative pregnancy test.
Enriquez has been released on a $100,000 bond. She'll return to court on January 11, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in Division 16 for an Appearance on Bond.
