Previous offender charged with new case for bringing gun to UNC campus

GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – A Weld County judge has set a $1 million bond for a previous offender who’s charged with a new case in Weld County.

On Thursday afternoon, Weld County Judge Michele Meyer kept a $1 million bond in place for 21-year-old Debisa Ephraim. This defendant has also been referred to by law enforcement as Ephraim Debisa.

The Weld County District Attorney’s Office also filed formal charges for  Ephraim on Thursday afternoon after he was arrested on allegations of being seen with a firearm on University of Northern Colorado’s campus earlier this week.

The defendant has been charged with:

COUNT 1: FIRST DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS (F6)

COUNT 2: POSSESSION OF A WEAPON ON SCHOOL GROUNDS (M1)

COUNT 3: CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON (M1)

A court hearing has been scheduled for Monday, September 29th at 1:00 PM in Division 17.
