GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – A Firestone man could spend the rest of his natural life behind bars after he sexually assaulted a female child for several years.
In May, a Weld County jury convicted Zachary Griffiths of three counts of Sexual Assault on a Child in a Position of Trust as Pattern of Abuse, in addition to other charges.
The abuse happened between May of 2012 through May of 2019. However, the investigation began in 2022 after the victim had reported the abuse to a teacher, who then reported it to a school resource officer.
On October 16th, Weld County District Court Judge Anita Crowther sentenced the defendant to the maximum sentence of 84 years to life in the Colorado Department of Corrections.
