Man Convicted of 3 Counts of Sexual Assault on a Child

Greeley, CO On Friday, November 3rd, 2023, a jury in Weld County District Court found a Weld County man guilty of sexually assaulting a ten-year-old victim for over a year.

Members of the Fort Lupton Police Department investigated the allegation. The investigation revealed that the crimes occurred approximately 20–30 times between 2020 and 2021.

Zachariah Aragon, 41, was charged and subsequently found guilty of the following:

Count 1: Sexual Assault on a Child: Pattern of Abuse (F3)

Count 2: Sexual Assault on a Child: Pattern of Abuse (F3)

Count 3: Sexual Assault on a Child: Pattern of Abuse (F3)

District Attorneys Arynn Clark and Dan Ray prosecuted this case. A sentencing hearing was set by Judge Esser for 1/18/2024, where Aragon faces 8 to 48 years to life in prison. He is currently being held without bond.

Because the victim is a minor, no other information will be released at this time.
