On Tuesday, March 24, Weld District Attorney Michael Rourke issued a report to Firestone Police Chief David Montgomery, in regard to the officer involved shooting of Sarah Jesser on February 13 at the Econo Lodge hotel near Interstate 25 in Weld County. The Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) conducted the investigation which was provided to the District Attorney’s Office. Based on the thorough investigation, DA Rourke has determined the Firestone officer is justified for firing at Jesser, after the defendant fired at officers who were attempting to make contact with her inside her hotel room. No further information will be released at this time due to pending litigation in Jesser’s case.
