An employee at the Weld District Attorney’s Office is spending her spare time giving back to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tara Casey and her two daughters, ages 10 and 12, are sewing masks to donate to local hospitals that are experiencing a shortage during this time.

“The news had been overwhelming and we were praying for something to do to fill a need while giving us a sense of community and purpose,” Casey said.

Casey saw a Facebook post from a local nurse about the shortages, and she said that’s when she knew she wanted to step in and help.

“Our hearts go out to healthcare workers and their families for their sacrifice and this was our small contribution.”
