GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) - A Weld County Grand Jury has issued an 11-count criminal indictment against Jeffrey T. Mullins, 36, in connection with the theft of nearly $900,000 through his employer, Transwest, an RV dealer.

Mullins was arrested on 11/26 following the indictment and made his first court appearance today for a hearing advisement.

According to the indictment, Mullins, of Dacono, was working as an RV Sales Manager for the Transwest dealership in Frederick from the fall of 2011 to June 2015. An internal audit showed Mullins would directly receive cash payments, or kickbacks, from buyers and sellers outside of the transaction.

A review of the defendant's banking records from October 2011 to June 2015 showed he deposited at least $879,925 in kickbacks from other individuals and RV dealers who did business with the company while he was employed.

The indictment further alleges Mullins filed a false tax return for 2012 and evaded taxes in the years following.

Mullins is charged with the following counts:

  • Theft - $100,000 - $1,000,000 (F3)
  • Filing a False Tax Return (F5)
  • Four counts of Tax Evasion (F5)
  • Five counts of Failure to File Return or Pay Tax (M)

If convicted, he faces up to 18 years in the Department of Corrections for the felony charges. He'll return to court on 2/15/17 at 9 AM for a disposition hearing.
